What is a credit?

A credit is our universal billing unit. 1 credit = ₹1, and buys 1,000 characters of text-to-speech or 100 seconds of speech-to-text. The same credit works across both Panini (TTS) and Vyasa (ASR), whether you use batch or streaming.

Can I use the same credits across TTS and ASR?

Yes. There is one balance, not two. Every request draws from it at the rate above, so your team can flex between text-to-speech and speech-to-text without juggling separate meters or forecasting the split in advance.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. Every account starts with 56 credits, and we top you back up to 56 at the start of each month if your balance has fallen below it. That is 56,000 characters of speech, or 1 hr 33 min of audio, every month at no cost. No card required.

What is the minimum I can buy?

₹100. Above that you can buy any amount you like — there are no packages to pick from and nothing to commit to monthly.

What is the difference between batch and streaming?

Accepted Answer

Batch is for offline or queued processing where latency is not critical, like archives or long-form generation. Streaming is for real-time use cases like live transcription, voice agents, and conversational assistants. Both cost the same per character or per second.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Requests return a 402 until you top up. Nothing is billed after the fact and there is no overage — you can only spend credits you have already bought.

Do credits expire?

Purchased credits do not expire. The monthly free allowance is a floor rather than a grant: if your balance is below it at the start of the month we bring you back up to it, and if it is above, nothing changes.

Do you offer custom or cloned voices?

Yes. Voice cloning is available in the playground, and fine-tuned models are included with Enterprise.
